"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" - Laoxi

It might not be exactly what Laoxi had in mind when he said this, but it serves my purpose.

So far I've managed to mark off a few places on my checklist, but there's still a long ways to go and I probably won't get to them all before I kick the bucket, but it'll certainly be fun to try.

One doesn't have to speak the language to enjoy a culture. The best way to experience a culture is just to immerse yourself in it. I never fully appreciated how far the index finger goes in communication until recently.

You meet all sorts of interesting people when you travel. The people of the land. Fellow travelers. Each with their own stories to tell.

If there's a few things I've picked up from travelling, it's this: pack light, bring a camera, and keep an open mind. Oh and don't forget to bring your toothbrush.
